ELAINE

--------------------------------------
I am a RYT Registered Yoga teacher, Sports,Thai massage and Bodywork therapist.

I received my teacher training from Yoga Arts (Australia) in 2005. My yoga journey has taken many forms; From the vigorous practises of vinyasa and ashtanga to acroyoga ..... For the past 5 years, I have found inspiration in the teachings of BKS Iyengar and am a disciple of senior teacher Peter Thomson.

I am certified in Thai Massage by the Thai Massage School of ChiangMai and have studied under Oestheopaths Arnaud L'Hermitte & David Lutt and Itzhak Helman of the Sunshine Network.

I have a keen interest in sports especially endurance sports and have trained in Ironman and sports massage with the renown Dr Myk Hungerford (mother of sports massage).

I am also a sports consultant and organise marathons and sports events.

Yoga helped me recuperate from a traumatic accident and I practise yoga to share its healing benefits with others. I believe in the transformation power of yoga and use Massage and other bodywork techniques to achieve greater depths in my yoga practise.

Yoga is a sharing of love and compassion that can bring about emotional and physical healing.

AcroYoga workshop with Marc Bauchet 8-9 May

I am organising an AcroYoga workshop 8-9 May @ The Substation.

"AcroYoga blends the spiritual wisdom of yoga, the loving kindness of Thai massage,
and the dynamic power of Acrobatics. These three ancient lineages form this practice that
cultivates trust, connection and playfulness to bring individuals into a state of union with
themselves, with each other, and with the divine. From this place of mutual support,
the true self can be realized, celebrated and shared for the benefit of all."
You can find out more about AcroYoga at
www.acroyoga.org

I first came to know about AcroYoga at The Circus. I found that it took yoga to a "fun" place : It is hard work, but playful! The practise requires good core & upper body strength and helps us develop an understanding about balance and weight which will benefit our regular practise.

Watch Jason & Jenny's demo on Youtube (but don't get overly intimidated!). It's so beautiful.

ABOUT MARK BAUCHET
http://www.acroyoga.org/incNoApp/instructorView.cfm?id=82
Residence: France

Birthplace: Chamalieres, France
email : marc@acroyoga.org
"After years of martial arts practice (mainly Kung Fu and Tai Chi) I began my yogic journey at the end of 2001 with daily Bikram practice. In parallel I studied Contact Yoga in the tracks of Ken Scott Nateshvar and followed his teacher trainings in 2002 and 2003. In the meantime I explored various styles of Yoga and am now alternating between Iyengar and Ashtanga, and exploring other styles (recent crush on Anusara). After several AcroYoga workshops I dived deeper in the practice by taking the 2008 teacher training in the magic Greek island of Lesvos. AcroYoga is for me a delicious cocktail of Yogic wisdom, acrobatic fire, and the healing sweetness of Breema and Thai massage. This year 2010, I am deepening my practice by training in Tulayoga (aerial bodywork), and joining the Thai Massage Circus.
Let's fly and heal!"

Food for Thought

My girlfriend, Adrina, brought me to the cutest little cafe in Bras Basah called Food for Thought. They serve simple sandwiches, soups and pastas but it is done really nicely, with alot of love and heart! The food is prepared right in front of you and everything is written in chalk on the boards.

And, it's GOOD FOOD FOR A GOOD CAUSE. The cafe supports loads of little projects in the region to bring education, water, milk etc.... to underdeveloped countries.

I would love to run a vegetarian cafe like this in the same spirit. (Am looking for investors & chefs!! :))

Urdheva Dhanurasana - My antidote

Peter kept looking at me and thumping his chest! I didn't have a clue what he was trying to tell me, but I'd nod and smile a goofy smile....

After 2 days of back bends, he finally called me to him and said, "Energise the heart. Urdheva Dhanurasana is your antedote."

"Oh...", I replied and went back to my mat.

And now, I do Urdheva Dhanurasana everyday and think of my heart! :)
